An evening at the opera

This past Saturday we saw War and Peace at the Metropolitan Opera House, aka The Met.(The photo was taken with my cell phone) It was 4 hours and 15 minutes, with one intermission. There were 65 soloists(most operas only have 3 or 4). There was a live dog, goat, and horse on stage. At some points there were 200+ people on stage. The opera recreates the one of the largest land battles in history! It was pretty good.

Before the opera we had dinner at Le Madeliene, a French restaurant near our apartment. We both had the prix fixe menu. I had a delicious butternut squash puree, and Craig had the mesclun salad. For entrees I had the salmon and Craig had a chicken and pasta dish. For dessert, Craig had a chocolate raspberry mouse, and I had classic creme brulee. Friday night we went to Rachel's and Craig had a warm spinach salad with chicken livers. So you would think it would a salad of spinich with a few chicken livers on top. Oh no, it was basically a plate-o-chicken livers with some spinach on top. It was entree size, so Craig did not eat the whole thing.
